Patrick Tan, a famous name in Singapore’s medical and genetics field, has received different awards from major bodies. These include the Charles Yanofsky prize for Most Outstanding Graduate Thesis in Physics, Biology or Chemistry from Stanford University where you took his MD PhD degree.
Tan also garnered other awards such as the President’s Scholarship, Young Scientist Award (A-STAR), Loke Cheng Kim foundation scholarship, Singapore Youth Award (twice), Singhealth Investigator Excellence Award, Han-Mo Koo Memorial Lectureship (Van Andel Research Institute, USA), Swee Liew Wadsworth Lectureship (NUS), and the Chen New Investigator Award from the Human Genome Organization (HUGO). Tan is a co-leader of the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC)’s biliary tract cancer project.
